Parenting programs based on social learning theory have proven effective in enhancing positive parenting skills, building social support, improving caregivers’ mental health, strengthening family relationships, and addressing challenging behaviors. They also help reduce substance use and economic hardship. However, the reach of such programs has been limited by their in-person delivery format.

 

 

Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH), initiated by UNICEF, WHO, and academics, quickly became the largest evidence-based parenting program in low-resource countries, reaching 180,000 families in 18 countries within three years. Despite this success, the demand far exceeds the program’s reach. To address this, INNODEMS supported the development of PLH Digital, an open-source mobile app designed to expand access by adapting to diverse cultural contexts. While not intended to replace in-person training, the app offers a complementary tool to extend the program’s impact globally.
